Video can’t be loaded because JavaScript is disabled: Install Titles, Transitions, Effects, and Generators DaVinci Resolve 18 () ![]() This is especially the case for online multiplayer games, and developers are releasing them in a “work-in-progress” state. Games are getting released a year or two after their last iteration, which is just too rapid. But in recent years, most of the time big studios (and to be fair, some players) are too impatient. Upon release, some of them are complete with all necessary features, and they are polished and brilliant - so that players have the best experience possible. Video games are in a weird spot right now. Unfortunately, cheaters are already damaging the experience, and if the problem is not taken care of quickly, we will see players leave in droves. But now it is also available on PC, which triggers another huge concern: cheating. In the past Halo was exclusively an Xbox console game. And hey, we must remember that the game is free. It gives me hope that things will get better. But I like the fact that the developers are striving to create an amazing experience. Updates are being made to fix these kinds of problems. The good news is that 343 Industries is apparently listening to players and taking feedback seriously. Sometimes, this forces you to play game modes that you don’t like simply because you want to earn the rewards that you already paid for! You must play specific game types in order to complete challenges. The problem with the progression system is that you don’t earn a lot of XPs for playing the game. Players can buy a battle pass, which unlocks equipment, colors, and other esthetic/cosmetic things for the in-game character by completing challenges and gaining XP to move forward through the Battle Pass tier (1-100). However, there are still options to spend money. Issues with XPĪs I mentioned, Halo Infinite Multiplayer is a free-to-play game. Big organizations have already signed players and have their own in-game skins, and the first tournament was followed by more than 50,000 fans. Also, it seems that the competitive scene is already in good shape. My opinion is that the gameplay feels good the game is beautiful and fun to play. Overall, reviews have been quite positive, and the game met the expectations of many hardcore fans, new players, and critics. After six years of waiting, the anticipation was electric! Positive Reaction ![]() To say that the gaming community was excited about this is an understatement. And so, to commemorate these milestones, on November 15, 2021, 343 Industries released the free-to-play Halo Infinite Multiplayer beta. And the second is that Halo: Combat Evolved - the inaugural title in the Halo series - was released on that day. The first is that the original Xbox was released on that day. Hard core gamers know that November 15, 2001, is a special date in history. Expectations and hopes are very high - and not just for 343 Industries and the Halo series, but for AAA games in general coming out of big studios. There is a risk that players could feel a sense of purposelessness and boredom if there is not enough to do in between the main storyline, or if things get too repetitive. Shifting from linear missions to an almost open world in which you can wander and enjoy what the universe has to provide could be amazing - or a disaster. This redemption arc begins with the promise that Halo Infinite will return to the core subjects of the series (before Halo 4 and Halo 5). It is not an exaggeration to say that for 343 Industries, Halo Infinite (which is not free) is either going to redeem the reputation of this series - or possibly wreck it beyond repair. It was hard to grasp how one of the most beloved series in the history of gaming was floundering. There was also some major criticism that the marketing campaign for Halo 5 was misleading and deceptive. Halo 4 and Halo 5 generated a lot of backlash. ![]() However, ever since 343 industries decided to follow Bungie’s lead by creating a unique experience, things have fallen short. The games were fun to play, and the stories were engaging. From Highs to Lowsįrom the first Halo title to Halo: Reach (developed by Bungie), players praised the solo experience. As a result of this backlash, 343 Industries decided to postpone the release until Decema little over 6 years after the release of Halo 5. However, after a preview of some of the gameplay, there was a massive amount of criticism due to the poor graphic performance. Halo Infinite was first unveiled at E3 2018, and it was scheduled for release in late 2020 with the arrival of the new Xbox Series X console. ![]() ![]() We’re all screaming at our screens for Rue to run away and never look back, but it’s practically a fait accompli. But she must take it intravenously – something Rue has never done before. Laurie offers her morphine to ease the pain. By this point, Rue is looking seriously rough as the side-effects of withdrawal worsen. Out of options, Rue goes to Laurie’s house – her dealer to whom she owes a suitcase full of drugs or the cash equivalent. It seems Zendaya is putting her Marvel training to good use. The resulting chase sees Rue parkour her way out of police clutches. No sooner has she made off with the stolen goods than she stumbles across a patrol car. Our heroin-addled heroine, though, can’t seem to catch a break. A sense of dread (will we see Cassie again? Or will Maddy have bludgeoned her to death with a stiletto and buried her body by the time next Sunday rolls around?) follows Rue as she leaves Lexi’s house behind and heads to Fezco’s.Īfter being turned away by Fezco, Rue resorts to the kindness of strangers – or rather she breaks into some Architectural Digest-looking home and steals a bunch of stuff. The moment of reckoning has come for the doe-eyed Cassie (Sky Atlantic / HBO)ĭropping the bomb so unexpectedly and casually gives the revelation more dramatic flair than if it had been Maddy walking in on her best friend and maybe-boyfriend going at it herself. Admittedly we don’t get to see much – Maddie says something about getting violent before she chases Cassie up the stairs, but the camera stays on Rue as she uses the chaos to make her exit. Maybe it’s this that pushes Rue to ask: “How long have you been f***ing Nate Jacobs?” Either way, it’s hard to feel sorry for Cassie over what comes next. “Just take it one day at a time,” she says, a little condescendingly. Intervention: take two.Ĭassie thinks it appropriate to offer some advice with zero knowledge of the situation. When she can’t find any pills, she settles for some expensive-looking earrings but finds her mum waiting when she goes to leave. The gang’s all here and after exchanging brief hellos, she goes in search of what she came for. ![]() And so, she dashes out of her mum’s car like a bullet from a gun, straight into oncoming traffic. It takes all of five minutes for Rue to realise that actually no, she doesn’t want to go to rehab. In this case, it’s the quietly menacing Laurie, ex-soccer mum and big-time dealer. Where there’s a suitcase full of drugs, there’s usually a scary person waiting to collect. Ok, obviously we’re all in Leslie’s corner here but did she really need to flush the drugs? If you find âthat your teenage kid – with no income and therefore no way of paying for a suitcase full of drugs – has a suitcase full of drugs in their room, you do not flush it down the toilet. Storm Reid is entirely convincing as Rue’s younger sister Gia (Sky Atlantic / HBO) That glimmer of vulnerability seems to break her walls down just enough for Rue to agree to go to rehab. “You left me when I needed you – you left me when I was at my lowest and someone who loves you wouldn’t do something like that,” Rue tells her now. One that we’ve been waiting for since Rue and Jules miraculously got back together in episode two as if Jules hadn’t left Rue at the train station at the end of season one. But there’s also a moment of catharsis here. She comes down on Jules hard, reeling off insults freely and aggressively. Suddenly, Rue’s cruelty has a new target. Things get worse when Jules unexpectedly chirps up from the kitchen to inform Rue that the drugs have been flushed down the loo. “You do not f***ing scare me,” Leslie tells Rue, with a tremor in her voice and tears in her eyes that belie what she’s saying. Zendaya’s ferocity calls to mind Evan Rachel Wood’s arresting portrayal as a troubled teenager in the 2003 film Thirteen. The scene plays out like a horror movie as Rue flings her body repeatedly against the door to Gia’s bedroom where her mum and sister are sheltering from her rage. She says the most hurtful things she can think of and manages to sidestep melodrama even when smashing a glass cabinet to the floor. She’s vicious like a small animal backed into a corner. As Leslie implores her daughter to get help, Rue shuttles rapidly between a billion emotions. ![]() In my overall review of Euphoria series two, I wrote that episode five pretty much guaranteed Zendaya another Emmy. Instead, we see Gia – Rue’s younger sister – sitting on her bed listening to what we’re listening to: Rue’s mum, Leslie, gently telling Rue that she knows about the drugs. No one’s having sex and everyone’s fully clothed, for a start. From the get-go, we know this won’t be a typical Euphoria episode. ![]() Post play has been upgraded with more fakes, particularly for big players. There are 32 dribble styles for the men’s league and 4 for the women’s, with the women’s dribble styles based on that of Seimone Augustus, Chelsea Gray, Arike Ogunbowale, and Gabby Williams. Sadly, The W (the online WNBA portion you can read about below) is only going to be on new-gen consoles, giving even more motivation to upgrade. There won’t be any crossplay between generations or consoles, and only your MyTeam progression will travel with you from one console to the next (PS4 to PS5, for example). By the sounds of it, there’s also going to be skateboards to make traversing the world a bit quicker. There’s going to be an all-new quest system, new ways to level up, new rewards, and a better way to engage with the NBA 2K community. The City is coming back to new gen (Xbox Series X|S and PS5) which will be an improved open world experience with PvP matchups, NPCs to interact with, and lots of stores to spend your hard-won microtransactions. You can play hoops on the ship and participate in shoreside events, which actually sounds kinda cool, especially given how much time is wasted walking around The City to get to what you want to do. Having flexibility and choices make meditating easier The morning was when I noticed the highest numbers-at times, I would be meditating in the morning alongside more than 5,000 people. When you first open the Insight Timer app, it tells you how many other users are meditating right at that moment. ![]() It felt like a nice bridge between my morning activities and the rest of my workday, and this is the time that I felt my focus was the best.Īnd I’m not alone in this. I usually spend the first two hours of my day reading and having breakfast, so after that was wrapped up, I often meditated. After tracking the exact times I meditated, I realized that my perfect meditating time is 8:30 a.m., a couple hours after my alarm goes off. So, I tried out lots of different times-after waking up, lunchtime, in the middle of my workday, right before bed. When I set out to complete this challenge, I knew that I wanted to find my “ideal” time of day for meditating. The right time of day can help you get into the Zen zone. Meditating at the right time of day is key Insight Timer works for me, and I learned some other important things about myself and meditation along the way. Through this process, I learned that to be a triumphant meditator, you need to discover “the thing” that works for you. Today, as I write this, I’m feeling calmer and more centered than I did at the start of my challenge. I needed a boost, a jolt-something to pull me out of my less-than-sunny mood.Īnd you know what? It worked. I started meditating in mid-March, a gray, lackluster time here in Wisconsin, and I was still deep in the throes of my seasonal affective disorder. And the timing couldn’t have been better. So, I started a personal challenge of using the Insight Timer app every day for 30 days. But in order for me to finally succeed at meditating, I needed something a bit more multifaceted, with plenty of options to fit my every mood. These apps opt for simplicity, so if that’s your goal, these are your apps. My thoughts always wandered in spite of my best efforts. I tried other meditation apps- Headspace and Calm-but found them a bit limiting. I tried repeating affirmations from a book for a while, too, but reaching the “sacred number” of 108 affirmations in one session left my tongue tired. Almost a decade ago, I actually studied with a private meditation teacher to combat my stress-incredibly effective, but also incredibly expensive. I’ve tried my fair share of meditation methods over the years. The search for the meditation enlightmentment I would also probably add distracted, unfocused, and uncooperative to the list, too.Īt least, this is how it used to be before I tried Insight Timer, which calls itself the “top free meditation app on the Android and iOS stores.” It has a nearly five-star rating on both platforms, so it’s an accurate claim. This is exactly how I would describe myself if I were a meditation teacher observing my student.
